While we aim to provide you the easiest possible application of your product, from time to time you may experience some difficulties. If the hose-on applicator is having trouble drawing up the contents of the bottle, please try the steps below:

Confirm that both holes are unobstructed. Ensure that you put your finger or tool over the right hand hole.

What is your water pressure like? There needs to be a normal flow and the tap needs to be opened completely to achieve maximum results. If the water pressure is too high, reduce it slightly. If the water pressure it too low, the product will not work properly as it requires enough suction to draw the product up through the straw. If the water pressure is normal, proceed to the next step.

Point the ‘hose-on’ applicator down at a 45 degree angle in front of your feet. If this starts to suck the chemical up, resume normal spraying action. This often resolves the problem. However, should you still experience issues, please contact us.

Generally, it’s safe once the product has dried. However, we would suggest to keep them off the lawn for a minimum of 24 hours (ideally 48 hours) as this will be enough time to ensure the lawn has taken up the treatment. Pets that may graze on the lawn (e.g. rabbits or even dogs) should be discouraged from eating any of the grass till after the first mowing (remove the clippings). Do not mow for 7 days after applying and do not feed the lawn clippings from the first mowing to pets or livestock.

To be called organic in Australia requires certification from accredited bodies. This is very difficult for products sourced from other countries. However Brunnings premium coir products are sourced only from coconuts, meaning the coir is both natural and derived from a renewable resource. It is a by product of the coconut harvesting process and is therefore environmentally sustainable and causes no harm to the tree.

Note that some of our coir blocks contain fertiliser to assist plant growth. These are typically not an organic input. Please consult the label.

This is required by the various Department of Agriculture bodies in each State. You will note that all reputable suppliers carry the same warnings on their bags. There would be very few traditional granular fertilisers sold that would not be required to carry the warning.

It was developed for commercial users of fertilisers where heavy metal build up can occur due to the very high frequency of use. It is almost impossible for dangerous levels of heavy metal to build up in home garden use as a result of traditional home garden fertilisers. Unfortunately there is no separate labelling standard for home garden use.

Although we acknowledge this on our product label, sometimes customers have missed this. Unfortunately the stain is quite difficult to remove. This is because it has been applied to a porous surface and the stain is actually below the surface. We recommend the following options in the first instance:

CLR: Readily available from most hardware stores.

Bondall Bore, Rust & Tannin Stain Remove: Generally found in Bunnings stores. The Bondall product may cost a bit more, but in the past has been proven to be an effective solution to the problem.

Like all trigger sprays, priming the trigger for the first time is key. This can require some vigorous pumping, sometimes up to 20 times to get it started. If you have tried this and it still fails to pump, it may be that the tube has fallen out of the trigger mechanism. Unscrew the cap and check that the tube is properly inserted into the trigger hole, then screw the cap back on.

Process oil is another term for vegetable oil.

Brunnings Paspalum Kill has a new style label that peels back and re-sticks (so that you can open numerous times), with the instructions being underneath. Simply look for the “Peel Here” indicator on the right hand side of the label and peel back from the top right hand corner to expose the instructions. Please use care when lifting to separate pages as the back panel should remain stuck to the bottle.

We advise that all liquid products should be shaken before use to ensure that the product is mixed correctly as some settling may occur when the product is stored.

Non-selective weed killers will KILL MOST PLANTS/WEEDS on contact while a selective weed killer is designed to kill specific types of plants, usually grasses and broadleaf weeds.

Do NOT use Feed ’n’ Weed or Bindii Kill on a broadleaf lawn like Buffalo as it may cause extensive damage. It is designed to work on broadleaf weeds, which makes broad leaf grasses vulnerable.

We recommend the use of Weed Kill for Buffalo for these established lawns. If unsure, we suggest you test the spray on a small area first to ensure that it is safe for use on your lawn.

You can use either this product or Feed ‘n’ Weed on your Couch lawn.

Brunnings Bindii Kill will kill Bindii, clover and broad leaf weeds including cudweed, wireweed, dandelion, capeweed, dock, lambs tongue, plantains and creeping oxalis. DO NOT use this product on a Buffalo lawn.

Sphagnum Moss is sometimes referred to as Peat Moss however do not confuse the two, they are completely different. Sphagnum moss is the live moss growing on the top of the swamp and peat moss is the decaying matter below the swamp surface.

As Sphagnum Moss is a natural resource, there are aspects of the moss and its surroundings which can cause contamination. Gorse is a prominent species growing in many of the swamps where sphagnum moss is harvested and can be found is low grade moss. As we only use Premium Grade Classic Sphagnum Moss, the majority of coarse contamination is removed during the production, however some pieces may still remain.

Brunnings Garden Products state the following “Use of this product may result in cadium, mercury or lead residues in excess of the Maximum Permissible Concentration (MPC) in plant and animal products and may also result in accumulation of these residues in soils.
