Brunnings Garden Products is one of the largest and oldest home gardening brands in Australia, with origins going back to the 1850s.

Brunnings has grown into an industry leader in many segments including lawn seed, fertilisers, weed killers, potting mixes and composts. It also owns and distributes the Gardman range of garden accessories including hanging baskets, arches, plant support and wild bird care.

In 2011, it partnered with global pest control company STV International, to introduce The Big Cheese and The Buzz brands in Australia. The Big Cheese is now one of the leading rodent control brands in this country.

Today, Brunnings Garden Products continues to innovate and grow, while striving to make gardening easy, fun and safe for its customers.

Arrival of George and Charles Brunning to Melbourne

1856

Brunnings Nurseries was established in Argyle Street, St. Kilda.

1858

The Brunnings Australian Gardener was launched and became well known around Australia as the bible of Australian gardening with 34 editions by 1958.

1889

John Brunning grew the first Victorian block of 175 Jonathan apple trees, which became a forerunner of Australian orcharding.

2007

Brunnings and leading UK garden products company, Gardman Ltd , joined forces to bring the Gardman range to Australia. In 2018, Brunnings purchased the Gardman Australia business.

2011

Brunnings and leading UK pest control company STV International launched The Big Cheese and The Buzz in Australia, introducing the first Total Rodent Control range in this country.
